Lake Powell 2012

This is our 2nd year of going to Lake Powell and we had a BLAST! We left on a Wednesday night, drove half way and stayed with some family, but not before stopping at Wal-Mart for a portable fan. We got up Thursday morning and met up with the rest of our gang for some McDonalds breakfast and just before leaving Price we stopped at another Wal-Mart and picked up 2 water guns and the new Carrie Underwood cd. A car full of people can only listen to Adele and the "schnap schnap crocodile fishing" song over and over for 3 more hours before we all go crazy. YAY... so finally we get to Powell, sometimes the drive feels like forever but so worth it. We loaded down the boats with all 5,362 bags and headed to the house boat, I so wish I would have taken a picture of the houseboat cause it was really colorful and fun on the outside of it. There is nothing more fun and relaxing for me then playing in the sun and water. We had our own little cove on a sandy beach area. Kyle and I took our tent, our blow-up mattress and our portable fan. I think some thought we were crazy and how hot it would be, but it was a blast. It kinda felt like we were on our own mini vacation at night, and besides what more fun could a wife have with her funny husband at night, in a hot tent, then playing monopoly on his iPhone while listening to country music singing along with it and having to have milk and cookies and star bursts before going to bed at midnight. I love spending silly times like that with Kyle... but i hate losing any game to him.

Friday was such a great day, we played in the water for the most part. Kash wanted to stay in the "little water" where he could touch, and my mom and I where on the floaties in the "big water". Gosh I waited so long to write this that I can't really remember why he got so brave, but swam over to us, and then realized how big he was to swim in "big water". And that's all it took, that's all he wanted to do, was to swim in the "big water" and jump of the boat all by himself.

Thanks so much Myron and Karma for a great summer getaway.
Proudest moment ever, was Kash jumping into the water and being such a big boy all by himself.
I wish I could figure out how to put this video I took of Kash and Kyle playing in the water but it won't let me. I love to watch them play together. Kyle is Kash's hero and I think Kyle loves having a little boy to do things with no matter where we are. I am the luckiest girl ever to be part of that.
On Saturday we went to Rainbow Bridge and Hole in the rock, what an amazing view. It's crazy to me to think how the pioneers made it down through that. I am so thankful for them all and so thankful I live in a day that is more "my style" Lake Powell has so much beauty all around and we are so grateful for Kyle's Aunt and Uncle to have taken the time for us and our family to enjoy all the fun things. We had some really great times and experienced lots of service and kindness while we where there. I also learned how important it is to be safe and think smart about being on the water.
Looking forward to many more memories at Lake Powell

Swim Lesson Pics

Kash passed!!! He did so awesome. He might not have been too excited about going the first couple of times but he was a trooper and stuck it out.

When you turn 3, there are finally a few more things kids can do. Swim lesson's down and now on to preschool. We did a mommy and me tumbling class last fall, but it was more like, mom watch and he go run and play. I can't wait for him to start something else. I have thought about Karate or maybe doing the tumbling thing again. The boy has energy to burn so keeping him active is good  but also very entertaining for us.

Some random things about KASHERS:
*has two neighbor boy friends and when they get together they love to pick the flowers and make flower soup, they say they only pick the dead one's.... yeah right :)
*went to the dentist for the 1st time not too long ago and has no cavities YAY!!!
*LOVES to talk with the pretty girls. I'll ask him if he is flirting with them he always replies yes
*he likes to play with little toys, like the one's you can get out of the quarter machine, he can play and play with it and want to put it in his pocket and not loose it.
  *is really into "Peter Pan"
*would have PB and Honey for every meal
*worships the ground his daddy walks on
*wants his bedroom to be painted blue and black
*he likes to eat carrots, not baby carrots out of the bag but the big one's
and will say, "What's Up Doc"
*his favorite color is blue (at least for today)
*loves music, lately we have been listening to Adele "Rolling in the deep"

Swim Lesson's

Oh the adventure of signing Kash up for swimming lesson's. I thought I was doing a good deed, something fun for the summer, right? We had our first lesson last Saturday.... the poor thing cried the whole time. There were a ton of other children there and mine was the only one crying     :(   It was sad. I thought for sure he would love it because he is such a water boy. So today was our 2nd lesson. I got him up and told him he was going and the tears started coming down. I gave him my best ever pep talk, told him how awesome he is and how great he would do and I would be right by him. Still, he cried and said he was not going. I didn't pay much for the lesson's so I thought for a second that it would be no big deal if he didn't want to go, but then I thought I don't want him to think it's ok to just give up on things. I guess more then that I knew he could do it and like it. I tried bribing him, it didn't matter, he really didn't want those walkie talkies that he would really, really like to have. So I when all else failed I threatened him. Just a threat, but it worked. He LOVED IT :)  He even smiled a time or two. He has a great teacher who is patient and cute with all of the kids. He is even excited to go next week (YAY.) When we are not in such a rush trying to make it on time, I will have to remember to take my camera and get some pictures.

8 stinkin months since I have posted anything on my blog.  8 months that have gone by that I didn't even realize it had been that long... MAN that went by fast. Where the heck does time go? Anyhow, my amazing husband bought me a lap top for my birthday and the plan is to use it lots to stay up on my blog, and thanks to Madalyn for doing some cute family pictures to add some much needed cuteness on here :)

BeFunky

We went to California and spent a day at the beach. I wanted to take some fun pics of Kash and then try to use the photoshop elements program that I just had to have. I ran across a much easier way to play around with the photo effects, it's from befunky... Here are Before and After

Way Up North and Over A Little Bit

Our trip to North Dakota. Makes we wanna sing that song "North to Alaska....Way Up North"  But I so can not figure out who sings this song or the name of  it. I remember hearing it ALL the time in High School, it's some good ol boy country music and  I think they sing the "Battle of New Orleans" too????

So why in the heck would any sane person drive for four days with a 2 year old, that's 2 days getting up there and 2 days coming back.... what any other person would do of course, to get a free Yorkie. NOT really, although we did get a new puppy, but regardless of getting a new puppy or not, we would still and want to again (but maybe not to drive it) go back to North Dakota to see our family. Kyle's brother Rich, his Wifey Tanna and there 4 cute kids , Taylee, Traceson. Macrae and Raeggan all live up there. Kyle and Rich hadn't see each other for just a little under a year so it was way over do for some brotherly love. Rich and his family have been offered an amazing oppurtunity to start a tire business but also to inspire the people of Williston North Dakota. So we packed up and left on a Wednesday night and finally arrived thursday afternoon. LONG, LONG drive but fun to see everything.

I made a list of things driving up there so I wouldn't forget what I did or seen:

* seen a million deer

* turned around a million times for Kash, little stinker wouldn't fall asleep until 10:30 the night we left, he was to excited to see everyone.

* we stayed in Butte Montana. We seen this light and couldn't figure out what it was. It looked diamond shaped. I guess some guys wife died and put this light statue thinger on top of the mountain of  her or something like that, it was pretty cool looking at it at midnight the night before tho.

* miles and miles of road

I have Chinese disease at 11:30 at night so I am breaking this down into a couple different posts :)
