Closest and the Longest

MY MOM: She is the first person I have been the closest too. She was always there for me, never judging me. She would always listen to all the good and bad I had done and would still love me. At times we were too much alike making things not the easiest for us, but would quickly get over it. We have been through alot together and I am sure we will continue to grow and learn from one another.

MY HUSBAND: He has been with me through thick and thin and still has not left my side for almost 12 years. He is an incredible man. We grew together through some of our hardest times in life...High School. He was the one I was always with when things at home were not so perfect. He is the closest and longest person I have been with and hope to ALWAYS be with.

DECISIONS DETERMINE DESTINY

“Life’s journey is not traveled on a freeway devoid of obstacles, pitfalls, and snares. Rather, it is a pathway marked by forks and turnings. Decisions are constantly before us. To make them wisely, courage is needed: the courage to say, ‘No,’ the courage to say, ‘Yes.’ Decisions do determine destiny. The call for courage comes constantly to each of us. It has ever been so,
and so shall it ever be.”

I told Kyle something today. I said I am the "talker" and you are the "agree-ee". I said some might think thats bossy but together we do pretty good, I get things started and when he feels "RIGHT" about it, he goes with the flow. I hope that in the next coming days and months the decisions that we make together as a family will bring new and great destiny for us.

What have we been up to?

1st: We went to Temple Square to look at the lights. We got some cute pictures for our Christmas cards. The Temple is so pretty with the lights. The weather was a little cold, but we had a great time.

2nd: Kashers had his 2 year check up. What a little tiny kid. He weighs in at a whole 24 lbs. and 32 inches. He can wear 18 month old clothes but some of the pants can be floods, so we tried a 24 month old pants, they are huge on him but the length is good. There is a difference between 24 months and 2T, he is not big enough for a 2T yet. His shoe size is about 6ish - 7. He loves NEEDOOS (top ramen noodles) he would eat them anytime of the day. He is a very picky eater. He over all is healthy and happy. These pics start at 1 day old, 6 months, a year and a half and 2 years. The time has gone by super fast.

3rd: First time Kash has sat on Santa Clause's lap...at least he didn't cry!!!

LIVING LIFE

Life is not a race - but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. be choosy. Say "Thank You," "I Love You" and "Great Job" to someone each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental - search for purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be. Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are becoming. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself - plan for longevity. Recongnize the special people you've been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment. BONNIE MOHR

This Day: 2 YEARS AGO #2

This day, 2 years ago, on a Tuesday was the day we got to take Kash home. It was such an emotionally day. We were so happy to be going home with our baby but at the same time feeling so sad for Whitney. We had spent three days bonding with her and bonding with Kash, it was hard to say goodbye this day. I waited so long to be a mom and at the same time I didn't want Whitney leaving without this amazing little blessing. It felt like I had taken something so great from her. I was ready for her to pack her bags and come home with us :)

The day went by so fast. We had just enough time to get Whitney a few things before we went to the hospital. We got there and they were ready to check Kash out. Our case workers showed up soon after we arrived and it was time. Time to sign the papers that he would be offically ours. Our case worker was with us in the hall and Whitney's case worker was in the hospital room with her and her family. Her mom, dad and all the sisters were in there with her. When they came out it was time to go in there with her. I was shaking and  sick to my stomach. I sat on the bed with Whitney and Kyle read her this candy card we had made her, we sat and cried together. I remember having my arm around and she felt so warm, it helped me feel comfort to be right by her. She gave him to me and he started to cry. Our case worker said they usually always cry when they are handed over and he did. We dressed him together, in the outfit she had given us in when she picked us to be the adoptive parents. We got pictures together and then it was time to say goodbye.
